Heraldry of the Bomb Technician Badge
The wreath is symbolic of the achievements and laurels gained in minimizing accident potential, through the ingenuity and devotion to duty of its members. It is in memory of those personnel who gave their lives while performing bomb technician duties.
The bomb is copied from the design of the World War II Bomb Disposal Badge; the bomb represents the historic and major objective of the EOD attack, the unexploded bomb. The three fins represent the major areas of nuclear, conventional and chemical/ biological interest.
The lightning bolts symbolize the potential destructive power of the bomb and the courage and professionalism of bomb technician personnel in their endeavors to reduce hazards as well as to render explosive devices harmless.
The shield in the background is drawn from the FBI seal in which the gold color conveys its over-all value and the scales represent justice. The significance of the red and white parallel stripes lies in their colors. Red traditionally stands for courage, valor, and strength, while white conveys cleanliness, light, truth, and peace. As in the United States flag, the red bars exceed the white by one.
This is for one of my painted glass arts that I hope you will like.
