Water hose holder for the garden pinterest project.

I have been so busy on many projects that I keep meaning to get on here and share my newest creations, but then something else comes up and further and further behind I get.

So today is a bit of a catch up day.

This garden project idea also came from pinterest.
Don't you just love pinterest?

The inspiration came from the THISTLE HOUSE blog.
This was dated back in 2011, and doesn't show how to, but she tells you what she did and well....
It was a WONDERFUL inspiration for me to do this!

So here is mine:

This turned out to be a great recycle project for me as we had an old 4x4 in the shed.
I used a little paint roller (original post used spray paint) and I painted my post a pretty Aqua color.
Kinda hard to see in this picture.
I couldn't find a hook like the original post had, but the hubs found an actual water hose hook thing-a-ma-bob at Ace hardware for around 5.00. I have seen these for alot more so look around if you go this route.  It was green so I had to spray paint that black. On top of the post I found a solar light at Home depot for 4.88!

There you have it. Another successful pinterest project completed.

Until next time...Have fun Creating your projects!

A little Fall Decorating inside the house..

So today I started decorating the house and one of the things I did this year was make a Fall tree. I saw one in a Victorian house that we went inside when we went to one of the state parks here. I fell in love with it and knew right away I had to make one myself. I figured I had enough stuff to do it so why not. I took one of my Christmas trees out of the attic. I decided to use the tall skinny one that normally goes in my guestroom at Christmas. Yes, I have a few tree's as I love Christmas! LOL

I went out to my shed and started going through my fall stuff.  Did I mention that half my shed is full of Halloween, Fall and Christmas stuff! Oh yah, I go crazy for the Holidays! LOL some day when my kids have their own houses they will have fun going through my stuff to decorate their own places. :)

In the foyer or I should say hall leading into the living room I can't do to much due to a fish aquarium being in there.  So I did a little decorating to greet the guest once they come inside teehee

Of course that is not enough to greet my family or guest. I had to do that tree!

I am sure my family and friends will think I am CRAZY now! LOL

I also added a few things that I made in a cpl areas:
like this adorable jack-o-lantern I painted with glass paints. I just added some fall flowers in him. I was thinking about putting him in my online store but he was just to cute to get rid of!

I added two little electric candles I made along with a cute little Happy Haunting glass art I did for a little flare on a side table.  heehee you can see one of my kitties peering out from the stairs.

I have a cpl more places to do inside and then the outside around the front door so be sure to stay tuned to see more Fall Decor.
:)

HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!

Bye Bye pool..

Sad day.
I am finally taking down the 16x48 Intex pool I had out back sense 2006. Sense the kids are grown up we just don't get into it any longer and I am tired of cleaning it and spending money keeping the pump running on it. Bye bye my ghetto pool. It has been real.
:(
We are going to give it to James Brother so his kids can enjoy it...yeah.

Now, what will I do with that empty space on the side yard...hmmmm

My first batch of peach butter

So I finally did it. I made my first batch ever of Spicy Peach Butter using the peaches off my peach tree over the weekend.

It took nearly 24 hours in the crock pot cause I forgot to leave the top off the first 12 hours of cooking so the water can evaporate. It has a whole lotta peaches (12 cups), cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and Honey. This batch is a little "loose" to me, but it does spread nicely on English muffins. So I guess I did it right.

I can't wait to make my 2nd batch. I am certain it will be even better. Think I will use sugar on the next batch cause this batch I used honey.

I will be giving some to my neighbors and as gifts. :)

You never know what is watching you...

I went out front to grab more peaches off the tree and I heard this noise and looked over and up and saw that the baby red tail hawk was sitting on the lamp post watching me. I think he/she was perched on it so he/she can observe the squirrels trying to steal a peach or two or tree off my tree! I say go baby hawk GO..Get you some squirrel just don't get me!!

Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry. I went inside to grab one of my camera's (of course I can only find the crappy one) and I had to zoom in from my front porch to take these pictures as I did not want to scare him/her away.

Ga Peaches anyone?

Our big Peach tree we have in the front finally is letting go of ripe fruit after teasing us for months!

I can not wait to make some spicy Peach butter and peach bread and peach shakes and and and...

I wish you could come over and take one right off the tree. I swear you have not had better peaches. They are so sweet and juicy.  I do not even know what type of peaches this tree produces but my neighbors tell me they are better then any store bought ones.
We bought another peach tree 3 years ago. It is an Elberta Peach. It had a couple of peaches, but there were so few and the squirrels just ate them up. I can only imagine when we have that one as big as this one producing peaches. YIKES!

We are constantly picking up peaches off the ground and throwing them in buckets cause they are no good. Once these things are ripe they just fall off. You got to pick them at the right time I swear. If you can get them off the ground right after the fall you are good. Just cut around the bruised part. These things do not keep long. I can honestly say that they are Organic. No pesticides at all used.  yum yum it is awesome to go right up to the tree and pick one and eat it right there...just be careful of the juices that run down your arm!

Time to run and get some canning jars so I can get started on some peach butter...it will be my first batch. Can not wait to try it on some peach bread!

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Nitro enjoying his Saturday. How about you?

Hi everyone!
Hope you all are having a good Saturday. Today I am taking a break from crafting to work on the house. My daughter will be home in a few days and I need to get some things in order. I put our bird Nitro out on the back deck... named after nitroglycerin because my husband is an EOD tech and besides that Nitro is destructive LOL  He seems to be enjoying it alot and on that note I hope you are enjoying your Saturday!

Plain 'ol white bird house

This is another bird house I did. Nothing at all to write home about.
I just painted it plain 'ol white.
I think I will distress it or something. Not sure yet.  I have it sitting at my front door on this cute table I got
this past weekend.
It is a plant stand and it has a light on it! How neat is that!
My neighbor gave this to me for helping her out with her yard sale on Saturday.
It needs to be fixed up, but at the same time I kinda like the weathered look it has. Oh I do not know.
Should I fix it up and paint it? Should I paint it back to white or perhaps a blue beachy like color?
Hmmm, maybe I should paint a seagull on the birdhouse?
Let me know what you think as I think this project will be revisited in the the future. heehee

Aaaahhh gotta love Spring

Today as I was working in the front yard I stopped and just took in the beauty that Spring gives us.
I had to take a few pictures of the flowers that are in full bloom.
You know that saying, take time out to smell the flowers...

I hope you had a great day too :)

I think some of these would make great paintings! Gotta love mother nature for inspiration!

my creative space area

ok .. I thought I would share my work "studio"area. It is a bit messy as I am working on a few projects, but this is where I go to create my paintings, crafts or anything else that inspire me. I generally will go in there and put on some music and just create away.
